U.S.-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP) 26th International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) in the Pacific Rim

Background

The U.S.-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP) was established in 1965 to address public health issues in the Asia-Pacific region. The program has been active for more than 60 years and continues enhance and foster collaborations between U.S., Japanese, and other researchers in the Asia-Pacific region. In 1996, the USJCMSP pioneered the “International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) in the Pacific Rim”. In 2026, the USJCMSP will convene its 26th EID Conference.

Focus

The focus of the USJCMSP 26th EID Conference is on bacterial and parasitic diseases of importance in the Pacific Rim Region. The theme of this year’s meeting is “Animal-Human-Environment Interface: Opportunities and Challenges to Eradicate and Cure Infectious Diseases”.
